The Villa was built in August 1999, by Gary and Teresa Moore. This Italian style home was originally built for the purpose of big family gatherings, sharing it with friends and neighbors, and throwing really fabulous parties!
The first wedding held at the villa was December 1999. The orchard was decked out in lights, there was a 16 ft. live christmas tree in the great room, a dance floor, and over 600 guests. The last guest left at 2 a.m.
Over the next 10 years, over 50 receptions and ceremonies have followed, during all seasons and weather! Many receptions have started outside; the crazy Utah weather decided to act up, and the whole thing had to be moved inside within about ten minutes before everyone got soaked! Always an adventure, but that's one of the perks of the villa; if outside fails, move it in, or vise versa!
An afternoon garden party wedding involved over a dozen netted tents both inside and out. Under each tent, set in beautiful vignettes of pink, black, and ivory, were cozy chairs and small tables for chatting, and a unique crystal chandelier hanging from the center. Over 15 different confections created by the bride herself, a pastry chef from D.C. were displayed on antique footed cake plates. And to fit the brides favorite childhood memory, as much cotton candy in any color as you wanted.
A recent wedding was in early evening mix of elegance and play. There were bubble machines in all the trees, unlimited Baskin Robbins ice cream (with 12 different flavors, many a guest were walking around with a triple scoop cone), and a retro photo booth! Her colors of gold, grey, and eggplant brought vintage elegance which only continued at dusk with 200 candles strewn thru trees and on tables were lit. The guests were also free to roam throughout the house, lounge in any of the rooms, and grab more treats set up in the kitchen.
We have had weddings ranging from Luau's to Fiestas with pinatas, dance parties to sit down formals, afternoon to evening (or even early morning) weddings.
The villa is has the feel of a sophisticated professional reception center, yet the charm of something more personal, a home.
I am shooting here on Friday. So excited to see it, cause it sounds fantastic!!
